- Students who fulfill the general and program admission requirements of the University will be issued an admission letter to the undergraduate program of their interest.
- Upon receipt of this offer, the student should confirm acceptance of the offer by completing the section provided for this purpose in the admission letter.
- The student should pay the admission fees to secure a seat in the selected program
PROVISIONAL ADMISSION
A student who does not meet the admission requirements stated above will be given “Provisional Admission” on the following conditions:
- A student who does not meet the English Language requirements of the University will be offered “Provisional Admission” until he/she satisfies the English Language requirements within a specified time period
- A student without final results may be admitted on the basis of provisional result and forecast reports from the school. His/Her admission will only be confirmed after submitting the valid documents of eligibility.
- If the student fails to meet the requirements of the University in terms of qualifying marks etc, his/her name will be removed from the rolls of the University (admission fee is non refundable).
- Students admitted provisionally must confirm the acceptance of the offer by completing the section allocated for this purpose in the admission letter
ADMISSION OF TRANSFERED STUDENTS
- Students who have completed courses at other accredited/recognized institutions of higher education and are seeking admission to the AGU may be awarded credits for those courses, provided that they submit an authenticated transcripts and similar documents to prove validity of such credits.
- The deans/credit transfer committees of the concerned colleges/ programs will determine whether a course or a group of courses completed at other institutions is/ are equivalent to courses offered in the particular program for which the student is seeking credit transfer.
- The total number of credits that can be transferred into a particular AGU program shall not exceed50% of the total number of credits required for completion or award of the degree of that program.
- In order to be granted credit hours towards work completed at other institutions, the credit weight for a course completed at those institutions shall not be less than 3-credit hours. In certain circumstances, if a course credit weight is less than 3-credit hours; similar courses can be grouped together for the purpose of giving credits for learning occurred as a result of studying those courses.
- AGU will consider courses completed at other institutions for credit transfer only if a student has obtained a minimum CGPA of 2.00, however transferred credits and grades will not be used in calculating the cumulative grade point average (CGPA) at the AGU.
- AGU will consider courses completed at other institutions for credit transfer only if a student has obtained a grade of C or above in those courses.
- In order to be admitted to an undergraduate program at AGU, a candidate must demonstrate sufficient command of the English language as measured by the TOEFL or any other internationally recognized equivalent and standard test. The candidate must submit a score of 500 (paper based) or 173 (computer based) on the international TOEFL or submit a score of 5.00 on IELTS or any other internationally recognized standardized equivalent test score. (Note: English language scores are only valid for two calendar years.)
- Once a transfer student is granted admission, he/ she will be informed about the transferred courses. He/she should confirm the acceptance of the offer by completing the section allocated for this purpose in the admission letter.
- Students accepted for admission should pay the admission fee to secure a seat in the program of interest.
Note: Courses taken more than five years prior to applying to the AGU are not transferable.
However the students must submit the following documents for admission:
- Attested copy of General Secondary Educational State Certificate or its equivalent Certificate/ mark sheets
- Attested Transcript and course description from the previous educational Institute
- Passport Copy
- Conduct Certificate issued by the CID
- Five passport size photographs
- Application fee of AED 150 (Non-refundable)
- Admission fee of AED 1,000 (Non-refundable)
